I have been at Tūtaki Youth since August 2015 after an awesome social work placement right here! I love working at Tūtaki Youth as the Youth Worker because I get to be creative and learn new things while working with the young people who live in Stratford.

I studied at Western Institute of Technology and at the end of 2015 I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Social Sciences. Once I had graduated I stepped right into the role of Youth Worker for Tūtaki Youth which has been been a great first step into my social work career.

Working one-on-one with youth and running programmes with groups of young people aged between 10 and 24 make up the lions share of my role.
I have a lot of fun running the Youth Space here at Tūtaki . There are a lot of different programmes the Tūtaki staff run in the space and it’s also a great place for youth to hang out and relax.

Working here is a blast and I can’t wait to be a part of the new and exciting things we have planned here for the months and years to come.
